Choices by Katrina Burchett
What is life like as a teen in today's world? Choices gives readers a
candid glimpse of the battles kids face today within their peer groups,
school, families, and relationships. As Burchett sheds light on several
unique lives, each with their own insecurities and issues, readers are
swept away by the inevitable, heart-to-heart connection with the
characters. Each girl has a story to tell and a choice to make. Choices
is as real as it gets, but as life's decisions weigh us down, Burchett
offers a message of hope to take home with us. If you're looking for
an inspirational yet life-changing look at reality as youth today face it,
you've found what you're looking for. --Pamela Guerrieri, Senior Editor

Show Me A Family by Denise Isaac
This book will establish the fact that there is not a true family
setting or structure around that has met the qualifications to be
identified as one in this present age. The family is one of the
greatest and most valuable organizations around but yet deemed
invaluable. This book will not only prove that fact but will help every
family to recognize its value and how to regain the title to even be
considered one. The family structure needs to be saved before this
world can be saved as well. This is a must have book that every
family need to obtain for their library collection passing it down
from generations to generations to come.
Black and Mainstream Press' Framing of Racial Profiling by Mia Moody
Racial profiling has been a controversial topic in civil right's dialogue
for centuries beginning with the Negro Free Registry in the slave era,
emerging again with the 1980s "War on Drugs," and climaxing with
the 2000 "War on Terror." This study offers an in-depth overview of
the evolution of racial profiling in the United States throughout these
diverse periods. It specifically offers an in-depth examination of how
mainstream and Black press newspapers framed the phenomena of
"racial profiling" three years before and after the September 11
terrorist attacks. It offers readers a peek at the various types of
frames, ethnic groups, and sources that journalists chose in their
quest to cover the issue.
