Pastor Delvin Atchison is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Atchison, Jr. of Hearne, Texas. He is the fifth of sixth siblings. He did
undergraduate work at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Philosophy with a minor in Psychology. In October, 2004,
Rev. Atchison was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from St. Thomas Christian College and Seminary in
Florida.  He is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity at George W. Truett Seminary, Baylor University, Waco, Texas. In July
2006, Pastor Atchison matriculated at Regent’s Park College, Oxford University, England in Summer, 2006 under the
tutelage of his mentor, Dr. Joel Gregory.

He began public speaking at age 9 and his preaching ministry at the age of 16 years of age under the late Rev. C. L.
Simpson, pastor of the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church of Hearne. He presently serves as pastor of the historic 111
year old Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Waco, Texas.

In a 25 year pastoral ministry, he has formerly served as the pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church of Crockett, TX, Progressive
Missionary Baptist Church of Cameron, TX and the Old Providence Missionary Baptist Church of Branchville, TX.

He presently serves as Recording Secretary of the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas. He formerly served as
the moderator of the Palestine Bowen Baptist District Association. Pastor Atchison had the distinction of being one of the
youngest moderators in the country. He presently serves as the President of the Union Baptist Congress of Christian
Workers.  He serves as Vice Chairman of the Community of Churches for Social Action of McLennan County.

In a social context, Pastor Atchison is quite busy. He serves on the Board for the Law Enforcement Academy of McLennan
Community College, the Dispute Resolution Commission of McLennan County, Advisory Board of Cottonwood Creek Golf
Course.   He is a founding member and chairman of the Black Student Association of Truett Seminary.  He serves as chair
of the Black Pastors’ Roundtable, a spiritual formation group for senior pastors, at Truett.

Pastor Atchison is a prolific speaker who has received many opportunities on the state and national level to proclaim the
Gospel through preaching and teaching. A frequent speaker on the college and university level, Pastor Atchison has spoken
at the following colleges or universities; Texas A & M University, Baylor University, McLennan Community College, Texas
Southern University, Lamar University, Navarro Junior College, Blinn Junior College and  Sam Houston State University

He is married to the former Brenda Groves. They have four children: Ronnie, 27, Michael, 19, Devin, 16, & Devlin, 15.
